Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Sr. FSE Engineer (Java/Python) to design, develop, and deploy cloud-native enterprise apps on AWS. You will build RESTful APIs and microservices, ensure performance and security, and share knowledge with the team.

Remote-friendly for qualified US applicants, preferably based in NJ or TX. Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and Architecture, mentor peers, and contribute to design artefacts and documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Java and Python development for building enterprise-grade applications and microservices.
• Proven experience with AWS Cloud Services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch, IAM, Secrets Manager).
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native application development.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and data modelling.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications using Java, Python, and AWS services.
• Build and support RESTful APIs and microservices following industry best practices.
• Integrate AWS native services to build resilient and event-driven solutions.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
