Scribd, Inc. in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to help drive the Web Modernization program and build the frontend foundations for our next generation of web product experiences.

You will lead modernization workstreams—migrating complex legacy web applications into a modern Microfrontend ecosystem, shipping production‑critical frontend code, and defining reusable patterns for other teams. After modernizing, you’ll work on features for publishers and readers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience.
• Deep experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Hands‑on experience with Next.js or similar modern web frameworks.
• Familiarity with Microfrontend architectures, monorepos, or shared frontend platforms.
• Strong understanding of web performance, bundling, and optimization techniques.
• Experience collaborating with backend and platform teams to define clean integration patterns.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; thrives in a remote, documentation‑driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead major modernization workstreams migrating legacy web apps into a modern Microfrontend ecosystem.
• Ship production‑critical frontend code and define patterns that other teams can reuse.
