Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to lead the Web Modernization initiative, migrating legacy apps to a modern Microfrontend ecosystem while preserving performance and developer experience.

You will ship core frontend code, establish reusable patterns, and collaborate across product and platform teams to enable durable architectural changes. In the longer term, you will join a product team to deliver features that let publishers upload documents and readers consume them,

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience.
• Deep experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Hands-on experience with Next.js or similar modern web frameworks.
• Familiarity with Microfrontend architectures, monorepos, or shared frontend platforms.
• Strong understanding of web performance, bundling, and optimization techniques.
• Experience collaborating with backend and platform teams to define clean integration patterns.
• Comfort operating in environments with high traffic, high visibility, and real user impact.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; thrives in a remote, documentation-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Ship production-critical frontend code and define patterns for other teams to follow.
• Define patterns and boundaries that other teams can build on.
• Partner cross-functionally to make architectural change practical and durable.
