Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer in the United States to lead the Web Modernization initiative, migrating complex legacy web apps into a modern Microfrontend ecosystem while maintaining performance and developer experience.

You will ship production-grade frontend code, establish patterns and boundaries for reuse, and partner with product, design, and backend teams to deliver impactful features for publishers and readers during the transition.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience.
• Deep experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Hands-on experience with Next.js or similar modern web frameworks.
• Familiarity with Microfrontend architectures, monorepos, or shared frontend platforms.
• Strong understanding of web performance, bundling, and optimization techniques.
• Experience collaborating with backend and platform teams to define clean integration patterns.
• Comfort operating in high-traffic, high-visibility environments with real user impact.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; thrives in a remote, documentation-driven culture.
