Compass is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join our world-class engineering team building the only end-to-end platform in the real estate industry. You will help deliver dashboards, notifications, and reporting interfaces that empower thousands of agents.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of professional software development, deep React frontend expertise, strong API integration skills, and experience with Python-based data pipelines or AI/LLM workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a track record of delivering complex projects autonomously.
• Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks (React) and UI/UX execution, with strong performance considerations.
• Professional experience with Python for data pipelines and AI/LLM workflows; Kafka is a plus.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Design & Build: Shape a strategic product surface, building dashboards, notifications, and reporting interfaces for thousands of agents.
• Drive Technical Delivery: Define, decompose, and lead delivery of complex projects across the stack.
• Incorporate Intelligent Automation: Integrate AI models, data pipelines, and telemetry systems to automate workflows.
• Champion Engineering Excellence: Write high-quality tests and perform thorough code/design reviews to keep codebases clean.
• Own Your Domain: Create architecture diagrams, runbooks, and specs; own services throughout their lifecycle.
• Collaborate & Mentor: Work with cross-functional teams and mentor peers to raise engineering maturity.
