Compass, Inc. is seeking Senior Software Engineer I/II to join a world-class engineering team building the only end-to-end platform for real estate. You will architect and deliver high-performance services and frontend interfaces, mentor peers, and own your domains from dashboards to broker workflows.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing comprehensive, well-tested, and high-performance software applications in Typescript, Javascript, and HTML/CSS
• 5+ years of experience with React and NodeJS
• 3+ years of experience using AWS / cloud technologies
• Track record as a technical leader with cross-team impact
• Attention to design and to customer needs in frontend work
• Strong CI/CD, containerization, and Agile/Scrum practices

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Design & Build: Architect, build, and maintain high-performance, distributed, event-driven microservices and cloud infrastructure, with frontend integration.
• Drive Technical Delivery: Define and lead delivery of complex projects across the stack.
• Incorporate Intelligent Automation: Integrate AI models, data pipelines, and telemetry to automate workflows.
• Champion Engineering Excellence: Conduct code/design reviews and write automated tests to improve code quality.
• Own Your Domain: Create architecture docs and specs; own services throughout lifecycle.
• Collaborate & Mentor: Work with stakeholders and mentor peers to raise the engineering bar.
