Job summary

Compass is hiring Senior Software Engineers (I and II) to join a world-class engineering team building the end-to-end platform for real estate. You’ll own frontend-heavy work in CRM and broker-productivity domains, shaping dashboards, notifications, and reporting interfaces that empower thousands of agents.

You will architect and deliver high-performance microservices, integrate AI/automation, and mentor peers while maintaining excellent code quality and documentation.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years building high-performance apps with TypeScript/JavaScript/HTML/CSS.
• 5+ years with React and NodeJS.
• 3+ years using AWS/cloud technologies.
• Proven technical leadership with cross-team impact.
• Attention to design and customer-focused execution.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, containerization, and Agile/Scrum.
• Nice-to-have backend experience: Java, Golang, Python.
• Nice-to-have Kafka, gRPC, Thrift, server-to-server protocols.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain high-performance microservices and cloud infra.
• Lead delivery of complex projects across the stack.
• Integrate AI models, data pipelines, and telemetry for automation.
• Perform code/design reviews and write automated tests.
• Document architecture, runbooks, and specs for services.
• Mentor peers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
