Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year of experience using a computer or similar technology.
• 1+ year of experience using common retail technology (phones/tablets).
• 1 year of retail cashier experience.
• Ability to obtain any required sales licensure or registration by law.
• Preferred: identify and sell products based on customer needs, including add-ons and warranties.
• Preferred: head cashier experience.
• Preferred: supervisory experience in any field.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service by following Lowe's policies and programs.
• Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Respond promptly to customer and employee questions and guide them through projects as needed.
• Explain stock, special orders, and warranty information related to Lowe's programs.
• Coach and train associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Process sales, returns, and refunds at the register per company guidelines.
• Ensure proper change is given and register accuracy is maintained.
• Assist customers by removing security tags and loading bags.
• Support checkout flow by opening/closing registers as needed and stocking supplies.
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages.
• Enter and verify customer orders and loading tickets.
• Look up product information and price comparisons for price matching.
• Record items used in store inventories.
• Perform daily cash counting and reconciliation as assigned.
• Monitor cash in drawer and cash recycler levels within limits.
• Assist customers with store entry/exit and alarm-related matters.
• Identify and report shoplifting or security risks to management.
