Job summary

Lowe’s is seeking a customer-focused associate to provide excellent service, assist customers with locating and selecting merchandise, and process sales at the register. The role involves guiding customers through projects, price matching, and ensuring accurate loading and checkout procedures in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualified candidates will have strong communication skills, prior cashier experience, and the ability to work with retail technology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe’s customer service policies and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand his/her needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
• Responds knowledgeably to customer and employee questions and guides them in store
• Communicates information on stock, special orders, features, warranties and Lowe’s programs to customers
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
• Uses a cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds
• Monitors cash in drawer and performs daily reconciliation duties
• Assists in loading merchandise and ensuring accurate order processing and pickup
• Looks up product information and verifies prices for price matching
• Maintains store cleanliness and safety procedures and assists in security-related tasks
