Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a Senior FreeCAD Engineer for a remote contract role. You will create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD, develop complex assemblies, and apply GD&T and DFM principles to ensure manufacturability.

Strong Python scripting for automation is highly preferred, with emphasis on QA of CAD models and drawings. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in mechanical design, proficiency in FreeCAD, and excellent communication for remote, project-based

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or related field focused on parametric CAD modeling.
Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or equivalent parametric CAD platforms.
Strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, including GD&T and DFM.
Ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
Experience performing engineering QA and ensuring model integrity.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, and validate parametric CAD models in FreeCAD per project specs.
Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies with proper component integration.
Apply GD&T and DFM principles to ensure manufacturability and quality.
Generate clear, precise drawings and documentation for review and downstream processes.
Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings to identify and resolve issues.
Utilize Python scripting for CAD automation tasks where appropriate (preferred).
Collaborate by providing feedback on model accuracy, design intent, and process improvements.
