Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a Senior FreeCAD Engineer for a remote contract. You will create and optimize parametric CAD models, develop assemblies, and ensure GD&T/DFM compliance. You will generate precise drawings, perform QA reviews, and leverage Python scripting for automation where useful.

Strong communication and remote teamwork are essential. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in mechanical design with FreeCAD proficiency and a solid grounding in engineering drawing practices and quality

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical engineering or related field with parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or equivalent parametric CAD platform.
• Strong GD&T and DFM knowledge for manufacturability.
• Ability to produce detailed drawings and documentation for manufacturing.
• Experience performing engineering QA on CAD models and drawings.
• Excellent analytical and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD per project specs.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies and component integration.
• Apply GD&T and DFM principles to ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Generate clear technical drawings and documentation for reviews.
• Conduct QA reviews of CAD models and drawings to identify issues.
• Use Python scripting for CAD automation where appropriate.
• Provide feedback on model accuracy, design intent, and process improvements.
