Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a Senior FreeCAD Engineer for a remote contract role. You will create, modify, and validate parametric CAD models in FreeCAD to meet project requirements. You will develop mechanical assemblies, apply GD&T and DFM principles, and produce precise drawings and documentation for engineering review.

Remote collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential. Experience with FreeCAD and Python scripting is highly valued, along with strong communication and problem-solving

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical engineering or related field experience with parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or equivalent parametric CAD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and DFM best practices.
• Ability to produce comprehensive drawings and documentation for manufacturing.
• Experience performing QA and verifying model integrity.
• Excellent analytical and remote-collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD to project requirements.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies and integrate components.
• Apply GD&T and DFM to ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Generate precise technical drawings and documentation for reviews.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings to identify issues.
• Leverage Python scripting for automation of CAD tasks where possible.
• Collaborate by providing feedback on model accuracy and design intent.
