Job summary

Rosehill Resources is seeking a Principal Process Engineer – Fractionation to join the Process Optimization & Support team. The role serves as the Fractionation Subject Matter Expert providing best-in-class support for refinery optimization and project execution.

Responsibilities include leading troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and technology development across crude, distillation, and vacuum units, with site visits, turnarounds, and coordination with consultants, vendors, and refinery

Qualifications

• BS or higher degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 15 years of process engineering experience in refining or petroleum.
• Field experience with startups and operating plant troubleshooting.
• Field experience in P&IDs review, Instrument Identification, Unit operations, and troubleshooting-data acquisition.
• Experience with fractionating towers, separators, and optimization of distillation columns.
• Ability to assess unit/tower/separator performance issues and communicate clearly to operations and leadership.
• Strong written and presentation skills preferred.
• Experience with crude fractionation including desalting and vacuum systems preferred.
• Experience leading unit startups, revamps, or new units preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Technology Advisor, Fractionation and Crude units.
• Provides higher level troubleshooting and debottlenecking capability.
• Responds to refinery requests for assistance.
• Provides technical leadership to develop Rosehill Resources process chemical treatment program.
• Assists plants with investigation and implementation of strategic projects.
• Assists in development and application of distillation and Crude and Vacuum unit technologies across sites.
• Stays abreast of emerging technology in Distillation, Crude and Vacuum units.
• Establishes Best Practices to improve profitability (conditions, feedstock, hardware, monitoring, reporting).
• Supports capital development process in technology selection and front-end engineering.
• Conducts regular site visits for evaluation, monitoring, testing and optimization.
• Conducts site visits during turnarounds/outages for tower inspections and scope development.
• Acts as primary contact with Consultants, Vendors, Contractors, and Subcontractors.
• Communicates with refinery management and releases monthly Progress Reports.
• Resolves technical/commercial/schedule issues and manages change control.
