Chevron Pasadena refinery is seeking a Unit Support Process Engineer to back daily operations and optimize processes for gross margin improvement. The role reports to a Process Engineering Team Lead and emphasizes technical mastery across mass transfer, distillation, heat transfer, and process control.

The position requires collaboration across disciplines, engagement in safety programs, and readiness to respond to refinery upsets outside standard hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering required.
• 2+ years’ experience in Process Engineering and/or Process Design in chemical, petrochemical, refining facilities.
• Aptitude for applying fundamentals of mass transfer, distillation, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, process control, and kinetics.

Responsabilités

• Provides process troubleshooting, technical recommendations, and process guidance.
• Participates in PHA, alarm management, and studies to improve safety and reliability.
• Identify gaps to improve performance and influence refinery improvements.
• Conducts test runs to optimize variables and evaluate plant health.
• Supports outages with engineering input and may involve work at heights or confined spaces.
