Job summary

Flint Hills Resources, part of the Koch family, seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead capital-project design and provide technical support for refinery operations in Rosemount, MN. You will drive process improvements, participate in PSM activities, and collaborate across teams to enhance site competitiveness and safety performance.

The role emphasizes leadership, advanced process knowledge, and a commitment to ongoing learning in a dynamic refining environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or higher.
8+ years in the refining or chemical processing industry.
Experience with industrial process equipment and optimization/troubleshooting.
Experience with process control fundamentals.
Experience with project support, including P&ID's, commissioning, and project closeout.
Experience with simulation software and hydraulic calculations.

Responsibilities

Lead process design for capital projects.
Deliver experiments and process optimizations to improve site competitiveness.
Troubleshoot production processes using Root Cause Analysis.
Build collaborative relationships across site and business teams.
Participate in site PSM activities (MOC, PSSR, PSI, PHA, MI).
Provide process engineering support to plant operations for production units.
Stay current with industry trends and innovations to advance business strategy.
Contribute positively in a team-oriented environment with strong analytical skills.
