Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff FPGA Engineer to provide technical leadership for verification of FPGA-based hardware for satellites and aerospace platforms. You will establish verification methodologies and drive improvements in performance, reliability, and maintainability.

You will lead complex FPGA verification, develop plans, support design reviews, and collaborate with distributed teams. A BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 8+ years in FPGA work are required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8+ years FPGA design, analysis, and HDL implementation experience.
• Deep knowledge of digital logic, FPGA architecture, HDL, and digital systems.
• Experience building FPGA verification environments for complex products.
• Understanding of timing closure, embedded systems, and high-speed interfaces.
• Proficiency with UVM framework and reusable testbenches.
• MS Office tools proficiency; strong communication skills.
• Experience with Vivado, Quartus, ModelSim/QuestaSim, MATLAB, Git, Jira.

Responsibilities

• Lead FPGA verification, debugging, and qualification activities.
• Evaluate simulation results and drive reliability improvements.
• Validate designs through verification planning, tests, and root-cause analysis.
• Develop verification plans and review packages for engineering decisions.
• Support design reviews, hardware integration, and customer discussions.
• Assess verification methods to identify improvements.
• Drive initiatives for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
