Job summary

Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences, Inc. (FAES) seeks a Senior Financial and Operations Analyst to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.

You will support contracts, dashboards, and program revenue analysis, working closely with staff and leadership to ensure accuracy and timely results. The role requires 5+ years in financial analysis and nonprofit accounting, advanced Excel, and experience with FP&A tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of financial analysis and accounting experience.
• Expert-level proficiency with FPA systems like Solver, Adaptive and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field from an accredited college or university; or a high school diploma and 5 or more years of financial experience required.
• Must be able to pass a NIH background check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual budgets and ongoing forecasts.
• Provide financial analysis to internal business teams and clients, including program revenue and expenses.
• Contribute to month-end financial reporting and margin analysis.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Own FP&A/CPM system at FAES.
• Oversee contracts in the contract management system.
• Support proposals and funder reporting with financial input.
• Provide training on financial processes and best practices.
• Monitor GAAP changes and ensure compliance.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and assist on special projects.
