Job summary

Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES) seeks a Senior Financial and Operations Analyst to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for FAES while overseeing contracts and dashboard coordination. The role reports to the Controller with dotted line to the CFO and requires strong collaboration and integrity.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in financial analysis, expert Excel skills, nonprofit accounting experience, and the ability to pass an NIH background check.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of financial analysis and accounting experience.
• NIH background check required.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or 5+ years of financial experience with a high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor annual budgets; prepare and update forecasts.
• Provide financial analysis for internal teams and funders; review program revenue and expenses.
• Contribute to month-end financial reporting including margin analysis and reconciliations.
• Produce monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Oversee Financial Planning and Analysis/Corporate Performance Management system.
