Job summary

Dechert seeks a Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis in New York to own complex models for revenue forecasting, cash flow, and profitability analysis. The role requires strong FP&A foundation, advanced Excel skills, and experience presenting to senior audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a Business, IS, or STEM major; MBA preferred.
• 7+ years FP&A experience in professional services.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Strong PowerPoint and executive presentation skills.
• Experience with large, complex data sets; familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, SSMS, Elite, Aderant, or BI systems.
• Excellent communication, time management, and discretion.
• Ability to lead workstreams in a flat, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently build, maintain, and enhance complex financial models for revenue forecasting, cost analysis, cash flow, rate analysis, profitability, and strategic modeling.
• Develop revenue forecasts incorporating historical trends, activity drivers, staffing, and practice dynamics.
• Support growth analyses, modeling revenue, compensation, staffing, expenses, and cash flow impact.
• Prepare executive-ready analyses and presentations with clear narrative, risks, and actions.
• Analyze drivers such as hours, rates, realization, collections, leverage, and client profitability.
• Collaborate with BI and finance teams to leverage data sources and dashboards.
• Translate data into concise insights supporting planning, pricing, staffing, and decisions.
• Conduct expense, headcount, compensation, and operating cost analyses for budgets and forecasts.
• Assist with annual budgets and long-range planning, emphasizing modeling and leadership materials.
• Respond to senior leadership with structured data, findings, and recommendations.
• Benchmark performance against internal and external data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Contribute hands-on analytical work in a flat team environment.
