Job summary

Aegon seeks a Lead Specialist, Financial Planning & Analysis to support the Director by delivering high‑quality financial analysis, reporting, planning, data, platform, and controls across our organization.

This hybrid role leads FP&A workstreams, partners with cross‑functional teams, uses Power BI and Oracle/AWS platforms, and contributes to monthly/quarterly management reporting. The position offers a salary range and an annual bonus opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience
• Ten years of financial analysis experience, including work in the insurance, financial services or investment management industry
• Expert knowledge of accounting/finance
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Strategic thinker able to communicate on business/market and legislative issues at a macro level
• Organizational and prioritization skills, and the ability to make timely decisions using the appropriate information
• Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills to provide complex information to diverse audiences
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel and financial business systems

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly and quarterly management reporting, including US GAAP results and KPIs.
• Draft commentary linking financial outcomes to operations, market conditions, and risks.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and scenario analysis.
• Develop and maintain executive dashboards and reporting packages.
• Collaborate with Finance, Technology, Actuarial, Accounting, Risk, Data, and other units.
• Lead or support FP&A workstreams with clear plans and governance.
• Use Power BI and other tools for governed reporting and data warehousing.
• Contribute to modern finance platforms and cloud environments (Oracle, AWS).
• Design and sustain data governance, definitions, data quality.
• Support SOX processes and controls with documentation and audits.
• Investigate reporting errors and root-cause analysis; elevate issues.
• Evaluate emerging capabilities like AI-enabled analytics with governance.
• Promote collaboration and mentoring peers.
