Job summary

Smartsheet is expanding its FP&A team with a Senior Financial Analyst focused on R&D FinOps and Product. You’ll bridge engineering roadmaps with financial outcomes, drive cloud cost management, and partner with Engineering and Product Management to scale profitability.

You will lead forecasting, RI/Savings Plan reviews, and new feature underwriting to ensure innovation remains profitable, while enabling real-time financial visibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in Finance/FP&A.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills for leadership discussions.
• Analytical mindset with ability to build complex financial models.
• Experience with cloud-native cost management tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end rolling forecast for R&D, focusing on cloud costs and headcount.
• Lead infrastructure FinOps practice and translate usage data into insights.
• Define and track cost per user or consumption-based cost with Eng.
• Lead monthly Cloud Reviews with Eng VP to analyze RI and waste.
• Build ROI and margin models for new features (e.g., AI).
• Manage month-end close for R&D and accrual accuracy.
• Provide variance analysis to CFO organization and stakeholders.
• Automate reporting using AI/BI FP&A tools.
