Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mid-Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE II) to own real ambiguity from rough problem statements and drive to a working solution across Foundry-based and custom software. You will serve as the technical lead for junior FDEs and manage multiple projects concurrently, collaborating with clients and Jacobs-internal teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience—seasoned individual contributors who can lead technically
• Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry and AIP — Ontology, pipelines, applications, OSDK
• Strong software development experience with a modern JavaScript frontend framework (React preferred) and Python
• Experience incorporating AI/LLMs into production solutions
• Proven ability to operate with ambiguity
• Comfort informally leading other engineers and setting technical direction

Responsibilities

• Own Solutions End-to-End from rough problem to working solution across Foundry-based and custom software
• Lead Technically on projects and mentor junior engineers
• Support multiple projects and manage cross-project context
• Move fast in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
• Originate portfolio patterns and establish reusable patterns/frameworks
• Debug and support deployed solutions and respond to feedback
• Deliver on program outcomes by aligning with client schedule, cost and confidence
• Lead client conversations on scope, feasibility, and trade-offs
• Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, developers, data scientists and SMEs
