Job summary

Figma is expanding its Forward Deployed Engineering team in a senior capacity. You will embed with strategic customers, solving complex integration challenges across their codebases, design systems, and environments.

Expect hands-on coding, cross-functional collaboration, and travel to customer sites as needed. In this role you will help ensure smooth adoption of Figma's products by engineering teams, shaping reusable playbooks and scalable enterprise engagements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping production software end-to-end, with meaningful time embedded with customers or partner teams.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and technical partnership skills with senior engineers.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and adaptability across unfamiliar codebases and environments.
• Hands-on experience with design systems and design-to-code workflows and tooling.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python with API/SDK integration and CI familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Make enterprise design system agent-ready for AI tools to generate faithful on-system code.
• Implement and integrate Make Local, Code Layers, and other products in customer environments.
• Perform technical discovery of customer environments to scope value paths.
• Debug complex integration problems (git, CI, dev-env).
• Build and tune MCP setup, agent skills, and prompts per customer context.
• Convert one-off solutions into reusable playbooks and feedback to product.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Experience to shape future offerings.
