Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to design and deliver production-grade data and AI solutions for customers. You will own end-to-end architecture, lead design decisions, and ensure scalable, secure deployments using the Databricks Platform.

The role is customer-facing with a focus on blending engineering excellence with business impact. Occasional travel (about 20%) and collaboration with cross-functional teams are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Spark runtime internals.
• CI/CD for production deployments; familiarity with MLOps and AI APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade data & AI solutions and reference architectures for customers.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring security, scalability, and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver value.
• Embed with customers, travel to sites ~20% of the time, and drive measurable outcomes.
