Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers to design, build, and productionize data & AI solutions on the Databricks Platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and deliver end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role emphasizes engineering excellence, adaptability, and a strong focus on measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• Experience with at least two cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Deep knowledge of distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Ability to design end-to-end data architectures combining pipelines, ML/AI, and UI.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design decisions for production-grade solutions.
• Own end-to-end delivery from data ingestion to ML model integration.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to ensure success.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
