Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers, owning architecture and delivering production-grade data & AI solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will lead design decisions and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires strong engineering execution, curiosity, and the ability to translate complex concepts into measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript; familiarity with modern frameworks.
• Experience with two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Spark distribution and runtime internals.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery including data ingestion, model integration, and end-to-end architectures.
• Guide transformational big data projects from design to deployment in collaboration with customers and engagement managers.
• Embed with customer teams to ensure architecture aligns with Databricks best practices and security requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver scalable and repeatable accelerators and assets.
• Provide clear documentation and white-boarding to translate complex concepts into actionable implementation steps.
• Travel to customer sites up to 20% to understand needs and ensure successful delivery.
