Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers, architect end-to-end data & AI solutions on the Databricks platform, and deliver production-grade systems. You will own design decisions, work with cross-functional teams, and ensure scalable, secure implementations aligned with customer goals.

You will embed with client teams, drive architectural outcomes, and contribute reusable accelerators and best practices to scale impact across accounts.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps and AI APIs.

Responsibilities

• Production Solution Delivery: lead impactful customer projects delivering production-grade systems, reference architectures, and data ingestion/ML model integration.
• Transformational Impact: guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Empower Customers: guide architecture and design; bootstrap or implement customer projects.
• Own the Architecture: lead architecture decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to ensure delivery meets customer needs and provide product feedback.
• Embed with customer teams and travel to sites as needed (up to 20%).
