Job summary

Databricks Inc. in Boston seeks a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to lead production-grade data and AI solutions for financial services.

You will own architecture, drive design decisions, and deliver end-to-end systems across data engineering, AI, and application development while collaborating with engineering, product and customer teams. The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, customer empathy, and the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable Databricks-based implementations.

Qualifications

6+ years of data engineering or software engineering experience.
Proficient in Python, Scala or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud platforms and at least one in depth.
Deep Spark knowledge and distributed computing experience.
CI/CD for production deployments familiarity.
MLOps and AI model integration familiarity.
Design and deployment of production-grade data architectures.
Experience delivering technical projects with measurable outcomes.
Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
Willingness to travel ~20% and pursue Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

Lead production solution delivery, architect reference architectures and data ingestion.
Drive end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications.
Advise customers on architecture and drive adoption of Databricks platforms.
Own architecture decisions ensuring security, scalability, and best practices.
Collaborate with engineering, PM, architects and customer teams for engagement success.
Provide feedback to product and support teams to resolve issues quickly.
Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
Contribute accelerators and best practices to scale across accounts.
