Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers, building and productionizing data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture and lead end-to-end design and implementation across data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires strong coding in Python/Scala/JS, cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), and the ability to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering or software engineering
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Cloud experience across AWS, Azure or GCP
• Deep experience with Spark and runtime internals
• CI/CD for production deployments
• Knowledge of MLOps and ML/AI models
• End-to-end data architectures and apps
• Experience delivering technical projects with measurable outcomes
• Documentation and white-boarding skills
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management
• Willingness to travel ~20%

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade data and AI projects with reference architectures
• Design and build data ingestion and ML/AI model integration
• Guide customers through end-to-end deployment of data and AI solutions
• Own architecture decisions for secure, scalable solutions
• Coordinate with Databricks teams to meet engagement needs
• Provide product feedback and guide rapid issue resolution
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and drive impact
