Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Forklift Operator in Charlotte, NC. This role involves loading, unloading, staging, scanning, and moving freight within a multimodal terminal and warehouse environment.

You will mentor developing staff and ensure safety, accuracy, and documentation integrity. You must have a valid forklift certification, 3+ years of dock/warehouse experience, and be able to work nights and weekends per the posted schedule.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Certification: Valid forklift certification/licensure (or ability to obtain).
• Experience: 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Physical: Lift up to 75 lbs with assistance or 50 lbs unassisted as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklifts and other MHE equipment.
• Move, stage, and position freight between docks, trailers, and warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight with scanners and systems for accuracy.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock and comply with PPE and OSHA rules.
• Learn equipment operation and safety procedures on developing roles.
• Support productivity and overall operational goals.
• Work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
