Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and move freight within a multimodal terminal and warehouse setting.

The role emphasizes accuracy, productivity, and adherence to safety and PPE standards, with mentoring duties for newer team members when appropriate. Responsibilities include operating sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks, scanning, labeling, and documenting cargo, while maintaining a clean, organized dock and complying with OSHA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure (or ability to obtain before operating equipment).
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to recognize numbers, labels, and freight markings accurately, and perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Label, scan, and track freight to ensure accuracy and documentation integrity.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dock environment and follow safety procedures.
