Job summary

Forward Air Corporation in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, and move freight in a fast-paced dock environment. You will operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and related MHE, scan cargo, and ensure accurate documentation.

The role requires 3+ years dock/warehouse experience, a valid forklift certification, strong English communication, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Physical stamina is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Valid forklift certification/licensure (or ability to obtain before operating equipment) is required.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience is required.
• Must communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to recognize numbers, barcodes, and freight markings and perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklifts and other MHE, and assist with lifting as needed.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight with handheld devices to ensure accuracy.
