Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and move freight in a multimodal terminal or warehouse environment. You will use forklifts and MHE, maintain documentation, and support dock productivity. Strong safety awareness and English communication are essential.

The role requires certification and 3+ years of dock experience; responsibilities include mentoring newer workers and maintaining a clean, organized dock.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure required or ability to obtain.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English for safety and operations instructions.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE such as pallet jacks and dollies.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and designated warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following dock and safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight with handheld devices to ensure accuracy.
