Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) is seeking a senior consultant in Minnesota with a strong background in human factors, safety engineering, and forensic analysis.

The role involves leading multidisciplinary investigations, evaluating root causes of accidents, and communicating findings to clients and legal teams. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in related fields, with experience in MATLAB, PsychoPy, and R, and may pursue CHFP/CPE/CUXP certifications.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field is required
• Ph.D. preferred for advanced roles
• Professional certifications in CHFP/CPE/CUXP are desirable

Responsibilities

• Review project proposals and allocate resources and time frames for project phases.
• Evaluate root causes in industrial, transportation, and consumer product accidents.
• Provide technical advice to project personnel and resolve problems.
• Review media and depositions to develop preliminary conclusions and plan investigations.
• Inspect accident scenes and involved equipment for data collection.
• Apply safety standards, literature, and regulations to projects.
• Design/testing and modeling to evaluate human performance or machine data.
• Conduct risk assessments and job safety analyses as part of a team.
• Prepare written reports and clear verbal presentations of findings.
