Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) is seeking a senior consultant to lead forensic and human factors investigations across industrial, transportation, and consumer-product contexts. You will guide project scope, collect and analyze data, and communicate findings to clients and stakeholders.

You will design experiments, review regulations, and deliver written reports while supporting business development and client relationships. A strong background in human factors and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of work experience in forensic or safety consulting.
• Academic coursework or certification in human factors, neuropsychology, engineering, HCI, product design, biomechanics, or work physiology.
• Experience designing/writing computational models of human performance and statistical analysis code is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review proposals to determine scope, funding, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Evaluate root causes in industrial, transportation, and consumer product accidents.
• Provide technical advice and resolve project problems with team members.
• Inspect scenes and devices to develop preliminary conclusions and plan investigations.
• Apply safety standards, literature, data, and regulations to projects.
• Design tests and models to evaluate machine performance and human factors data.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety analyses for products and machinery.
• Prepare written reports and clear verbal presentations of findings.
• Collaborate with visualization to communicate complex engineering concepts.
• Support business development and client-building strategies.
• Gives expert witness testimony as needed.
