Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) seeks an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong forensic background to lead complex investigations and advisory work.

You will conduct field investigations, perform advanced analysis, and author high-quality reports and opinions for legal and industry audiences. The role requires 15+ years in mechanical engineering consulting, PE licensure, and proven ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering consulting, design, or forensic investigation.
• Deep technical expertise in mechanics, stress analysis, fatigue, failure analysis, and/or machine design.
• Strong track record of authoring high-quality technical reports and/or peer-reviewed publications.
• Experience providing expert testimony is highly desirable; established client relationships and book of business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate complex forensic investigations and multidisciplinary projects.
• Conduct and supervise field investigations of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Perform advanced engineering analysis using mechanics principles (stress, fatigue, failure analysis, fracture mechanics).
• Author reports and expert opinions; review others' reports.
• Provide expert testimony at deposition and trial.
• Mentor consultants and staff in technical development.
• Collaborate with Business Development to identify opportunities and expand client base.
