Job summary

Engineering Systems, Inc. (ESi) seeks a senior mechanical engineering consultant with 15+ years in consulting, design, or forensic investigation. The role involves leading forensic projects, field investigations, and advanced mechanics analysis, with opportunities for expert testimony and client engagements.

The position requires PE licensure and a strong track record in technical reporting, publications, and business development. Travel across the national practice is occasional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Master's degree or Ph.D. strongly preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates forensic investigations and multidisciplinary projects related to mechanical engineering failures and personal injury matters.
• Conducts and supervises field investigations of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Performs advanced engineering analysis using mechanics principles including stress analysis, fatigue, fracture mechanics, and dynamic loading.
• Authors high-quality technical reports and expert opinions; reviews and oversees reports by junior consultants.
• Provides expert testimony at deposition and trial.
• Conducts client presentations and participates in business development activities.
• Mentors consultants and senior consultants in technical and professional development.
