Job summary

ESi is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead forensic investigations and multidisciplinary projects across mechanical systems and machinery. You will conduct field investigations, apply advanced mechanics analyses, and produce high-quality reports and expert opinions.

The role requires 15+ years of experience, PE licensure, and strong communication skills to interact with legal teams and clients. Occasional national travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree or Ph.D. strongly preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates complex forensic investigations and multidisciplinary projects related to mechanical engineering failures, product liability, and personal injury matters.
• Conducts and supervises field investigations of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Performs advanced engineering analysis including stress analysis, fatigue, failure analysis, and dynamic loading.
• Authors high-quality technical reports and expert opinions; reviews and oversees reports prepared by junior consultants.
• Provides expert testimony at deposition and trial.
• Mentors consultants and senior consultants in technical and professional development.
