CGS Federal is seeking a Senior FOIA Analyst to join our IT-supporting team in handling FOIA requests for a major federal agency. The role involves processing requests, drafting correspondence, and negotiating with stakeholders while ensuring compliance with exemptions.

Qualifications

Experience processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

Receive, review, and analyze new and backlogged FOIA requests.
Intake incoming requests and prepare FOIA request folders.
Enter request data in the FOIA tracking database.
Draft response letters and other FOIA correspondence.
Communicate and initiate negotiations with requesters, FOIA staff, sponsors, and contractors.
Serve as a liaison with requesters and other agencies as needed.
Coordinate searches for responsive documents and identify duplicates.
Review program records for responsiveness and determine release.
Ensure released materials do not contain exempt information.
