Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Senior FOIA Analyst to support a large federal agency's legal mission. The role focuses on processing FOIA requests, drafting correspondence, and conducting negotiations with requesters and agencies.

Strong ability to redact sensitive information and apply exemptions is required. Candidates should have 3+ years of FOIA experience, English proficiency, and the ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of experience processing FOIA requests.
• Knowledge of FOIA rules and exemptions (b(4), b(5), b(6)).
• Experience redacting records containing trade secrets or confidential info.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and analyze FOIA requests.
• Intake requests and prepare FOIA folders; enter data in tracking DB.
• Draft FOIA response letters and negotiate with stakeholders.
• Coordinate searches and identify duplicate records; ensure proper exemptions.
• Serve as liaison with requesters and other agencies as needed.
