Job summary

CGS Federal in the United States is seeking a Senior FOIA Analyst to join our IT department. The role focuses on processing FOIA requests, drafting correspondences, and negotiating with requesters and stakeholders to determine release content.

Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of FOIA experience, strong English communication, and the ability to work independently while ensuring compliance with exemptions and privacy rules.

Qualifications

• 3 years of FOIA processing experience.
• Knowledge of FOIA exemptions b(4), b(5), and b(6).
• Ability to redact confidential information.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and analyze new and backlogged FOIA requests.
• Intake incoming requests and prepare FOIA folders.
• Enter request data in the FOIA tracking database.
• Draft response letters and FOIA correspondence.
• Communicate negotiations with requesters, staff, sponsors, and contractors.
• Coordinate with agencies on multi-agency records releases.
• Coordinate searches for responsive documents and identify duplicates.
• Review records for responsiveness and release determinations.
• Ensure released materials comply with exemptions.
