Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced systems engineer to support the New Glenn Upper Stage and Payload Accommodations. You will own CONOPS, requirements, verification, and interfaces across teams to enable safe, reliable launches.

You will develop and implement verification plans, author essential docs, and lead operational constraint definition for pre-launch and flight activities. Strong collaboration and decisive leadership are required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering or other technical field.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in fluids, thermal, propulsion, cryogenics, pneumatics.
  • Hands-on experience in analysis, design, testing, or launch operations.
  • Experience developing, authoring, and implementing integrated tests or operating launch vehicles.
  • Ability to work under time pressure with evolving requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence in teams.
  • Experience in systems engineering on launch vehicles or regulated industries.
  • Experience writing and consuming requirements.
  • Ability to operate, make decisions, and progress in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems engineering for the New Glenn Upper Stage and Payload Accommodations program.
  • Develop verification plans and strategies to verify requirements.
  • Author requirements, perform decomposition, analysis, and traceability.
  • Coordinate interfaces between internal and external customers.
  • Create operations documents defining testing requirements and lifecycle.
  • Define operational constraints for end-to-end safe operation.
  • Develop and maintain detailed CONOPS for pre-launch and flight operations.
  • Collaborate with test, launch, and autonomous flight teams to integrate constraints.
  • Provide on-console engineering support during tests, launches, and recovery.
  • Analyze flight data and conduct post-flight reviews for the Fluids subsystem.
