Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the New Glenn Upper Stage and Payload Accommodations. You will own subsystem CONOPS, develop verification strategies, and coordinate requirements across internal and external stakeholders.

You will work with launch vehicle operations teams, contribute to risk management, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering safe, high-quality spaceflight experiences.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in fluids, thermal, propulsion, cryogenics or pneumatics.
  • Experience in analysis, design, testing or launch operations.
  • Hands-on experience in integrated tests or operating launch vehicles.
  • Ability to operate under time pressure with evolving criteria.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player who can lead through influence.
  • Experience in system engineering on launch vehicles or highly regulated industries.
  • Experience writing and consuming requirements.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support Vehicle and Ground System Leads by executing systems engineering activities.
  • Develop and implement verification plans to verify requirements.
  • Write requirements, decomposition, traceability, and verification.
  • Negotiate interfaces with internal and external customers.
  • Author operations documents defining testing requirements and lifecycle.
  • Define operational constraints for end-to-end safe operation.
  • Develop and maintain detailed CONOPS for pre-launch and flight ops.
  • Collaborate with test and operations teams to incorporate constraints into procedures.
  • Provide real-time on-console engineering support during tests.
  • Analyze post-flight data for the Fluids subsystem.
