Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a fluids systems engineer to design, analyze, and integrate pressurized fluid systems for spaceflight hardware. You will develop models, run experiments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, repeatable spaceflight.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree, 5+ years in a similar role, and proficiency with Creo and FEA tools. Willingness to relocate and travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Four-year aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (or similar discipline).
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with solid modelling, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and configuration control of engineering and documentation.
  • Experience understanding fabrication and installation drawings.
  • Knowledge of standard components, installation, and fabrication methods of piping systems.
  • Knowledge of typical use, constraints, and specification of fluid components in tubing and piping systems (valves, regulators, pumps).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD (Creo preferred) and FEA (ANSYS preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and test fluid systems including pneumatic, cryogenic, thermal, and environmental control systems.
  • Develop and validate models of fluid systems using relevant software tools.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data to understand system and component performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fluid systems into vehicle structure.
  • Prepare technical documentation and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input for continuous improvement.
  • Manage vendor relations, scheduling, and budget tracking.
  • Author component specifications and manage suppliers through design and delivery of flight hardware.
