Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer to design and analyze pressurized fluid systems for spaceflight applications. You will develop and route components, ensure safety analyses, and generate detailed drawings for production.

Responsibilities include integrating pumps, valves, and instrumentation, conducting trade studies, and mentoring junior engineers. Strong CAD proficiency and knowledge of pressure safety principles are required, with travel up to 25% and relocation offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Aerospace Engineering or related field helpful.
  • 5-10 years of design experience in fluid systems.
  • Experience with pressurized and flowing fluid systems.
  • Tube routing experience for complex systems.
  • Component selection for fluid system applications.
  • Knowledge of pressure system safety and hazard analysis.
  • CAD proficiency: CREO, NX, CATIA or SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze pressurized and flowing fluid systems from concept through production.
  • Integrate pumps, valves, fittings, and instrumentation into a broader system.
  • Design and Release tube routing layouts for complex aerospace applications.
  • Ensure safe design, operation, and test of pressurized/cryogenic systems.
  • Perform trade studies and create drawings/specifications.
  • Support integration, testing, and troubleshooting of fluid/structure systems.
  • Interface with manufacturing, quality, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with standards for pressurized hardware and codes.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
