Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a fluids design engineer to craft gas systems for the Lunar Transfer Stage spacecraft. You will manage the full life cycle from concept to operation, sizing components, and verifying structures under pressure and vibration constraints.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical or aerospace background with hands-on experience in fluid systems, CAD design, and GD&T, plus strong collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of proven experience designing aerospace fluid or mechanical systems and testing.
• Hands-on experience building and testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized components/systems.
• Proficiency with engineering tools like Simulink, Matlab, Thermal Desktop, EES, and JAMA.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the fluids sub-assembly, CAD modeling, trade studies, procurement, and test data analysis.
• Create and maintain P&IDs using AutoCAD.
• Develop and maintain acceptance and qualification test plans for subsystems and components.
• Define interfaces between fluid systems and other vehicle subsystems.
• Design and analyze custom components for fluid, thermal, and structural applications.
• Verify components against company standards.
