Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior engineer to own the design and analysis of the helium subsystem within the Gas & Thrusters team for a Lunar Vehicle. You will size components, procure parts, and manage sub-assembly hardware on the Transfer Stage Vehicle at the Florida facility.

The role emphasizes CAD design, test, and interface work with other vehicle systems, with a focus on safety, quality, and timely delivery for spaceflight programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of proven experience in aerospace fluid or mechanical systems.
• Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred).
• Knowledge and experience with gas systems.
• Proficiency in engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience performing flow and pressure calculations and thermal/structural analyses.
• Hands-on experience building and validating pressurized components.
• US citizenship or lawful status to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Fluids sub-assembly design and development, including procurement and CAD modeling.
• Create specifications for fluid/gas components such as valves and regulators.
• Develop interface definitions between fluid systems and other subsystems.
• Design and analyze custom components for fluid, thermal, and structural use.
• Perform verification of components to company standards.
