Job summary

The role requires diagnosing engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and performing major repairs using diagnostic tools and fleet management systems, while upholding safety and quality across branch operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Owns a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete repairs/services.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles/equipment.
• Mastery of Mechanic B and C-level tasks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, propane, and fuel systems.
• Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet maintenance by performing preventive maintenance on all Herc-owned fleet at the branch.
• Operate and test equipment to ensure it meets Herc Rentals quality/efficiency standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all Herc fleet equipment and trucks.
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, and assorted services.
• Replace worn parts and diagnose signs of significant wear or failure.
• Produce detailed service reports and repair logs.
