Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic A to lead fleet maintenance, perform advanced diagnostics, and ensure equipment remains on the rental ready line. The role emphasizes mentorship to junior technicians and adherence to Herc's procedures.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, major repairs, and testing equipment to meet quality standards, while maintaining safety and efficiency across branch operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, propane, and fuel systems.
• Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet maintenance operations at the branch to keep equipment on the rental ready line.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs independently on Herc fleet equipment and trucks.
• Diagnose and repair using electrical schematics and computerized diagnostics.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and generate detailed service reports and repair logs.
• Follow all company procedures and assist with training Mechanic B & C technicians.
