Job summary

Herc Rentals seeks a skilled Mechanic A to lead fleet maintenance at the branch, perform preventative maintenance, and diagnose complex equipment systems. You will work with advanced diagnostics, reconditioning, and safety compliance to ensure equipment remains rental-ready.

The role includes mentoring junior mechanics and coordinating with shop leads. Requires strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, propane, and fuel systems, plus proficiency with diagnostic tools and fleet management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet maintenance operations at the branch.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Herc-owned fleet.
• Diagnose engines, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems using diagnostic tools.
• Reprogram firmware/software where applicable.
• Enter and review work orders and assist in training junior mechanics.
